Katherine Abney

Ms. Katherine Abney was born on October 10, 1958, in Saluda, South Carolina,
to the late James Thomas and Willie Mae (Coleman) Abney.
She received her education in the public school system of Saluda County and
was a proud member of the Saluda High School graduating Class of 1977. From
an early age, Katherine committed her life to faith and became a member of
Wateree African Methodist Episcopal Church.

On Friday, February 20, 2026, Katherine peacefully transitioned into eternal rest
at Self Regional Healthcare.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Ray
Anderson, James Henry Abney, Abraham Abney, and Melvin Abney.

Cherishing Her Memory Katherine leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to be carried
on by her beloved son, Victor O. Abney (Nicole) of Greenwood, South Carolina;
her devoted companion, Oscar A. Lott of Saluda, South Carolina; her
goddaughter, Alaiza N. Abney of Saluda, South Carolina; her stepson, Andre
Daniels of Saluda, South Carolina; her god-grandchild, Emersyn N. Taylor; and
five step-grandchildren: De’Andre Matthews, DreKwon Daniels, Andre Daniels,
Noreaga Daniels, and RaShard Daniels.She is also survived by her loving sisters, Georgia F. Hawkins, Andrena Gallman,
Susan Abney, and Willie Pearl Abney, all of Saluda, South Carolina; one brother,
Calvin Abney of Saluda, South Carolina; a devoted niece, Alondrea T. Abney of
Saluda, South Carolina; two brothers in law, Robert Hawkins Sr. and Henry L.
Gallman; fourteen nieces, thirteen nephews, a host of cousins, and dear friends
who will forever treasure her memories.
